Looking for suggestions/ideas of ways to test flag capture (Tanks) - Solution Found

Salute,

 

Let me explain.....last weekend I ran a multiplayer dogfight map in which there are multiple capture points (flags). Some players although driving up to the flag found it did not change colour to indicate a capture. We tested the mission again later and the same player WAS able to capture the same flag with no issues. So we are assuming that it was something to do with net code at the time. I had an issue of where I was not able to refuel, despite testing the scenario many many times off line with no problem.

 

This caused us a few issues on the mission (it was a match v another squad) and we are going to re-run the event this Sunday because of it.

 

To try and avoid the same issue again I am thinking of adding a test spawn point that has a couple of flags (so that more than 1 player at a time can test if they are ok).

 

My question is how can I re-set the flag(s) so that once one player has triggered it, it can be re-set so that someone else can test.

Once they have established that the game is seeing them ok for a capture they can de-spawn from the test site and pick a proper spawn site for the start of the mission.

I was thinking of a set of flags for each side at either end of the map.

 

I have tried an on capture disable and re-enable but the flag came back in with the same status.

If I can help it I dont want to give both squads a friendly and enemy spawn point to test as that will unlock enemy information, although I could use different nationalities I suppose (at the moment I am using Central Powers for Axis (side 4) to get a blue flag and Entente for Allied (side 3) to get a green flag?

Don't think you can reset the flag? like you said the only way I see it working is by having the allied tanks despawn once the flag is up , then having a axis tank enter and see if it changes?

Also on your mission there was only one side in the area yes? if you had a axis tank in the check zone the flag wouldn't move . there as to be more of one side in the area i think.?

Solved it. Used an AI truck for the enemy that is activated when the flag changes. This routine will work over and over for different players that spawn in to test.
