Any advise for a shader mod?

Recommended Posts

Although I'm not completely new to Il2, I've pretty much never really looked into its options/mods.

I'm running Il2 on a 8700k/GTX1080ti in combination with an HP Reverb. Performance is great! (perhaps graphics could be improved, but I kinda got used to it and it's more than good enough for me).

I mainly play DCS and recently I discovered a shader mod there, which makes all colors much more vivid/saturated (at a very slight cost of performance). Is there also such a shader mod for Il2?

Which one would you advise me?

Are you using latest version?

Does it do anything for VR?

Haven't had time to check this out yet, but does it come with installation instructions? I'm kind of a layman when it comes to this stuff.

Fwiw: I'm using the Steam version of Il2

It's pretty much point and shoot with the installer. (just tell it where IL-2.exe is and that it uses DX11)

Sorry to bother you again, but as said.. I'm a layman ?

So I installed Reshade and it seems to be running, but somehow I don't see any changes in my VR headset (HP Reverb G1 - SteamVR):

I tried increasing/decreasing color saturation, but I only see it change in my VR mirror, not in my headset:

All the way to the left

But no change in my headset ?‍♂️

Any help would be appreciated

Edit:
Nevermind
Apparently you have to restart the game each time you make a small change. Not really handy, but it works :)

I don't have VR, so I can't know for certain if that's the cause, but the changes happen instantly on my screen.

I'm not a VR user either so don't really know but someone recently pointed at the below to alter gunsight brightness in VR in a gunsight discussion thread so for the 2cents it's worth perhaps look at this if you are specifically looking for something in the VR area. I also use Reshade and changes are reflected straight away for me too.

If you use reshade v5 and up it works in VR. You will have to use steamvr with overlay enabled and then use your vrcontrolers to access the menu. How you use it now through pancake mode only enables reshade for pancake.
