With the release of the Mosquito, I've been wondering if the Amiens prison will be included as it was the site of the famous Operation Jericho raid. Looking at the Normandy map, Amiens is just cut out of the map, but I'm hoping it will still be modelled in some form. I know lots of people are excited to fly this mission, any ideas?

It's only *just* off the map, which means that it's likely still in the part that has extra detail. I guess it'd be relatively easy to copy the surface files from the FC Arras map, and extend the no-fly zone east. No mods required for the surface textures, but not sure about the no-fly zone. Anyhow, I'm hopeful it can be done; worst case you require Mods On :)

(And obviously, an different 3d model needs to be substituted)

They put it in the “out of bounds” area off of the map. People can see it in the distance but they can’t fly to it. ?

A bigger issue is the limit of the western side of the map when it comes to using the C47 for the 101st and 82nd Airborne drops.

Normandy map: It's almost 50% water. Think of it this way: if they sell you that percentage in any bar without telling, you'll feel ripped off ...

Though some might think differently:

Which can be modded ;)

Only problem is, assuming it's similar to the Rheinland map, there are basically two "out of bounds" zones. The first runs to about 20km or so beyond the map boundary and basically has full-resolution terrain features. After that starts the second zone, which has low-resolution terrain that looks ugly unless seen from afar. I *think* Arras is close enough to the flyable zone that, given the low altitude of the mission, the 2nd non-flyable zone won't be a problem, but of course I can't say for sure until the Normandy map is released.

The same technique can be used to extend the flyable part of the map 20km west. Not quite far enough for a fully historical mission, but it comes close. We can compromise after all, can't we? We'll have to do with different airfields anyhow ;)

I also think that youll be able to see city same way you can see moscow, so with mods enebaling you to fly over it youll then be able to fly Amiens (for Paris mission you stil need Beaufighter :)  ) in SP or some controled MP coop mission or event.

Make believe skin for your Beaufighter, but be sure to add 150 grade fuel:
