Battle of Stalingrad: Taxi and Take-Off Scenario

I am new to playing the game and using a joystick. So I thought I would do a few touch and goes to get used to the game system and my joystick Thrustmaster Hotas 4.

 

When I use the joystick controls they all seem to work OK including engine power. At least when I pull back on the power control I see how much power the engine should be putting out but I do not hear in increase in revs of the motor. In essence, I am stuck in place and cannot move.

 

I did hit the A key on my keyboard to start the autopilot and the engine rev'd up and the plane taxied to the runway and took off.

 

What am I missing?

Hi and welcome, maybe you need to map also the joystick or keys for increase and decrease Propeller RPM

So, first, what kind of plane are you flying? (some US planes have parking brakes (although you posted under BoS, which does not come with any US planes), and German planes do not have a manual RPM control, while Russian planes do).

 

Do you mean that when you use your HOSTAS throttle, the cockpit gauge shows an increase in manifold pressure?
