In computer graphics, there's a certain effect that's caused by shadow bias (itself used to prevent even worse graphics glitches), called Peter Panning. Peter Panning can cause the shadow to be offset a bit, as if the object were floating above the surface (hence the name) while actually it's positioned correctly. See for example https://learnopengl.com/Advanced-Lighting/Shadows/Shadow-Mapping. From what I see, I suspect that's what's going on, rather than some actual bug . If so, I'm afraid there's no real solutions.
