Adding new skins to aircraft

Thanks to a previous post I found out where to add the new skins on Steam e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\skins\P51D15 I add the new skins for the P51D15, check they work in the viewer. Close everything (even restarted my computer. Open IL2 Great Battles from within steam, get to the part where you can pick the skin and nothing new is there to pick from. Can anyone advise where I am going wrong? I read there is a setting about using custom (skins, maybe) that I might need to check, anyone know where that might be? Or where I am going wrong?

When you are in your modifications screen, the menu heading over the list of paints is "Default" followed by a downward pointing caret. Click on the caret and it will drop down a menu named "Custom." Your new skins should then be listed by name.

Thanks Skycat, you nailed it. Now I can see all of the custom skins.
