StormingThunderhead Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 A single sortie in the 190 A-8 (armament was 2 x 13mm MGs and 4 x 20mm cannons) flown on Wings of Liberty server. 6 kills were claimed. It was not a very good or skilful sortie; I was just a gamer doing his job. In one way, this sortie shows how good the 190 A-8 is; It achieved an Ace in a Flight for me. Here is the definition for serendipitous. KevPBur Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 I've been flying the A8 a bit lately too in a SP career and really loving it. If you can get those mighty guns un target your opponent is more than likely going down. My last 2 flights have also both been ace flights plus a bonus couple of AA guns that were rudely firing at some of my flight whilst I was down on the deck so hoovered them up too. And still came home with half the ammo left. Not sure how I'd do against realy rather than ai pilots and with all the aids off. Your video demonstrates very well how to fly the A8 to its strengths and running rather than getting drawn into knife fights. Nice video
StormingThunderhead Posted May 17, 2022 Author Posted May 17, 2022 Yes KevPBur, the A-8 is a monster with 4x 20mm guns (I just wish I was hitting a bit more often ). I'm glad you are enjoying it in SP. In multiplayer, you have to be a bit more cautious because players usually don't drain their energy as much as AI would in a chase. But if you can stay disciplined, it's not too difficult to get kills.
