I/JG27_Zimmi Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Excellent start into the week, thanks for sharing. I can't wait spending my small PhD student salary on the collector's edition.
LLv34_Untamo Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 (edited) S! Thanks for sharing! ... All I can think of is: "Shut up and take my money!" Edited July 22, 2013 by LLv34_Untamo
DD_Arthur Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Sounds like he was impressed! though thought the news would be posted here first. Yeah, whats wrong with the devs forum? From the report; The first mission was loaded and we saw the landscape, cities and villages, which be assured look really good from every altitude. Uneven terrain caused by snowdrifts, riverbanks and small hills are visible from down low to 10k which gives the landscape a natural look. All this was run on a current average system and there was no noticeable hit on performance. Not when we moved the mouse in free-view mode like crazy or zoomed in and out of the city of Stalingrad. Stalingrad itself is modeled 1 on 1 with every building placed exactly like in the real world and having their own damage level. I guess the Pilots from ???
Zak Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Should be easy to figure out. Thanks a lot for sharing, LukeFF!
OBT-Psycho Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 it really does not make it easier to wait until friday now... you damned lucky bastard
DD_Arthur Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Sorry, I had to edit it a little. Zak Thats not a problem Zak but why don't these boards - the developers official forum - get this sort of news first? I'm confused.
1CGS LukeFF Posted July 22, 2013 Author 1CGS Posted July 22, 2013 (edited) Glad you guys liked it! For those that don't know - Jason and I live about 20 minutes apart from each other, so we get to hang out quite a bit. Loft was in town for....something... , so he gave me a really nice intro to everything they've done so far. He's a great guy to talk with, and it's plain to see that him and the team really want to give everyone a great gaming experience. I can't go into much detail about what I saw, since I'm under NDA, but suffice it to say the game is looking absolutely great. There's nothing to be worried about IMO, and if you enjoyed the original IL2, you'll certainly enjoy BoS, and all the more. Edited July 22, 2013 by LukeFF 2
kestrel79 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Wonder if they will make an apperance at EAA next week? I know some flight sims have booths there in the past. X Plane, FSX.
AA_Engadin Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Hey, that's my stick, a glorious MS SW FFB2, in the background! Hope that means the team are working to get the FFB effects properly implemented in the sim. Crossing fingers! AA_Engadin.
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 awesome he's in Riverside. you guys going to Chino for any flights on the FW190 or BF109s?
Feathered_IV Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 You're a lucky fellow Luke. Hey Loft, can you come to my house next week?
1CGS LukeFF Posted July 22, 2013 Author 1CGS Posted July 22, 2013 awesome he's in Riverside. you guys going to Chino for any flights on the FW190 or BF109s? Loft and Jason were thinking about going to Chino, but I dunno if they ended up making it there.
Peshka Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Wow! this very nice. Thank you LukeFF. May be that we get no post of people just want to say bad all the time ..... ? I make joke ..... they will say always Forget them .. many are happy to see BOS grow to life
TheBlackPenguin Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 We should organise a get together someday at Chino or March AFB.
Jason_Williams Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Hey guys, Manni has done a lot for ROF and he is tight with the team. He visited our Moscow office and he learned much. He spoke a bit too much. It wasn't an official release. Luke also got to see some special stuff for his tremendous help with ROF as well. Loft is on an excellent adventure in the USA this week. Some info on that later. Now back to the blackjack table. Jason and Loft 2

hiro Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 cool . . . My heart flipped when I speed / scan read the thread and saw " P-39 " but on the slower read (2nd pass) it was probably referring to rate of fire for 20mm as Il-2 1946's P-39 37mm . .. darn. But p-39 will come along soon . . . as the subsequent sequels make their way . . . that's awesome you guys got to taste the alpha ness.
Bearcat Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Hey, that's my stick, a glorious MS SW FFB2, in the background! Hope that means the team are working to get the FFB effects properly implemented in the sim. Crossing fingers! AA_Engadin. I use the same stick and I was thinking the same thing.
I/JG27_Zimmi Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Might be a bit OT.I can't say how trustworthy the yesterdays plane list was, but I was wondering if the devs have ever thought (sorry could not find a statement via the search function, if there was such please send me the link) about romanian Bf-109 E-3 and E-4, respectively. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember some romanian Emils to be active in this area in 1942 and since we have a nice emil model from BoB... ?!
csThor Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Now back to the blackjack table. Jason and Loft Well, can't ever say that you're not creative in procuring financial assets in creative ways.
=BKHZ=Furbs Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Well, can't ever say that you're not creative in procuring financial assets in creative ways. Or losing them!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember some romanian Emils to be active in this area in 1942 and since we have a nice emil model from BoB... ?! the Luftwaffe used much more Emils in that time , in its ground attack groups

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember some romanian Emils to be active in this area in 1942 and since we have a nice emil model from BoB... ?! Romanian Gr.7.Van had 13 Bf109E in all 3 squadrons (Esc.56.Van, Esc.57.Van, Esc.58.Van) on 19 november. Already on 23 november 8 Bf109 could escape to Moro fron Karpovka and flew to january 1943 as escort for Romanian He111s. Schl.G.1 had four Staffeln of Bf109E's (1, 2, 3 and 8) + Stab I./Schl.G.1 and Stab./Schl.G.1, overall ~40 Bf109E on 19 november 1942.
I/JG27_Zimmi Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Thanks for the detailed information. I was yet not able to find a topic regarding the Emil in the retail BoS version. May someone send me a link via PM?
