moeburn Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 On Finnish multiplayer server. Haven't tried singleplayer. Using P-47 d-28, with 4xMG, 2x1000lb, 1x500lb, 6xrockets. Flew 250mph for 10 minutes and bombed target, returned to base at 300mph, landed, decided to use rctrl-A to rearm plane for the first time instead of hitting esc and finish mission. Rearming finished, flew to target again. This time, I notice something is wrong. I'm flying at 300mph instead of the usual 250mph with a full load. Same throttle settings I always use, but 50mph faster. I can see the rockets are on my wings, not sure about bombs. I arrive at target, and drop bombs successfully. Only there is no yaw/roll motion on my wings when I drop one 1000lb bomb from one wing, but leave the other one on. It's like the bombs are weightless. But they definitely destroy their targets and make big booms and lots of points for me. I drop 2500lbs of bombs and 6x of rockets. And I fly back to base at the same speed. 300mph. Same throttle settings, 2500lbs lighter, but the same speed. Now that's an exploitable bug! 3
moeburn Posted May 5, 2022 Author Posted May 5, 2022 Here I made an annotated video showing the 35mph faster cruise speed after rearming, and the complete lack of yawing motion when dropping wing-mounted bombs one at at time after rearming: https://gfycat.com/gleefulwealthyinganue
IckyATLAS Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 That's interesting indeed. There may be an issue with bombs that are loaded instead of those that come at start of mission. Once you have expended your initial bomb load that was defined at start of the mission, the plane has a different flight configuration in terms of less weight and a smaller external cross section which means less resistance and higher speed. After rearming it may be so that the plane configuration is not changed (this would be a bug) and so there is no difference even if you can see that you have the bombs and they do work normally. I will do some tests and check for this.
