No menu on right side of the screen

When IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad starts, it comes up on a scene of a Russian fighter in a hangar and scrolls around the plane.  The graphic covers the entire screen so large that the right side menu is not on the screen.  I can't get any further in the game without that menu.  Any idea how I can adjust the video so the menu appears?

Go into the "startup.cfg" and find the 2 instances of "height=" and "width=" and dial in your screed resolution.
