You can control the radio volume, check the control bindings.

Another handy workaround is to go into  \IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\Audio\radio\ and add a minus (-) character to the start  of the names of the folders with languages you don’t understand. You then won’t hear them anymore, though the chat will still tell you what is said, translated into the language you set for yourself. Remember to undo that before you update the game, though.

deleting radio folder or renaming it works too and is less time consuming
