kissTheSky Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Hopefully Steuart Walton will be a good caretaker of the assets. Never new such a collection existed. Looks like I missed a chance to visit when I was at Everett in 2013 :(. It has/had a Mozzy to boot. ?
JG7_X-Man Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 (edited) I read that too - That's awesome! I am just happy some ultra left-wing conservatist or ultra left-wing elites hasn't spoken out yet about how this guy should spend his money. Edited April 27, 2022 by JG7_X-Man 1
ATAG_SKUD Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 I hope the new owner will let us see the 262 with real Jumo 004's fly, it was ready when Paul Alan passed and was due for a flight test at Moses Lake. Also, last time I visited the museum the Stuka had progressed substantially. That would be worth the plane ticket to see that fly! I would appreciate anyone that has more info will post it here and keep this thread alive so we don't miss any opportunities to see these. skud 1
SCG_Tzigy Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Still so sad and upset. Of course not knowing all the details but just superficially, I wish his sister kept the foundation going... for god's sake he was only worth like $20 billion?
PatrickAWlson Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Wish I had known. I would have bought a couple. After all, they're collector planes. Can't cost more than $30 each. Less if you wait for a sale. 2
WWChunk Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 It was the most impressive collection I have ever seen, and there were many visits there over the years. Hope the new owner keeps up Paul's work. 1
WWChunk Posted August 4, 2022 Posted August 4, 2022 ...and now for some good news...looks like the Walton heir is going to keep the collection where it's at, AND reopen the museum! https://www.seattletimes.com/business/boeing-aerospace/walmart-heir-acquires-everetts-flying-heritage-museum-from-paul-allens-estate/ 4
