Audgisil Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Junkers is building a modern version of the Ju52. It's supposed to be extremely fuel efficient, have fully modern amenities, be very easy to fly, and based on the same basic construction as the original. The first initial flights are expected in 2026 Forget having a personal jet. I would want one of these. Moderne Ju-52 kommt - AERO 2022 (msn.com) 1 3
BMA_FlyingShark Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 Thanks for the information. Have a nice day.
Trooper117 Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Unless it's dropping paratroops I'm not interested...

As *new* aircraft with new type rating, it can take 20 PAX (or so), while I have been told all historic aircraft in Switzerland have been downgraded (after the crash of HB-HOT) to a grand total of *six* on board. This includes crew! Now divide the costs of one hour flying time of a historic tri–motor by four (PAX) instead of by 20 (PAX) and you get to the bottom of the resulting problem. The days of those Ju-52 PAX flights (and thus flying Ju-52 in Europe in general) are likely over. With a new aircraft that at least looks like a Ju–52 you can put up the appearance, should one ever care for such. I doubt that. I don‘t. It is of note that this downgrade in allowed people on board was literally tuned to kill Ju-Air‘s operations, a clear ad hominem. First, it was a restriction in „seats for sale“, then Ju-Air came up with the idea of just taking on Ju-Air Members (that pay their flights through membership), then the bureaucrats made a new rule that you have to be member for at least a year until it is not „commercial“ anymore (yes, they can just pull that out of their b*m), and when that didn‘t help preventing the flights, they just reduced the numbers on board the hard way. I mentioned before how I see bureaucrats destroy vintage aviation and how careless idiots that think they know better are part of the problem. What just happened here is some of what I meant with it. 1
[CPT]Crunch Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Need to put a seat and glass dome back by the old gunners station, that would sell a few premium first class tickets.

I think BAZL is just playing 'tough guy' after getting read the riot act by EASA. As for the airplane: Nice try getting clueless investors to throw some money onto a DOA design. I'd much rather take that TBM in the background... Edited April 30, 2022 by Bremspropeller 1
Lusekofte Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 Just what my wallet need, maintenance on 3 turbojet just for a funflight. When one knows a modern design can do with one or two
BeastyBaiter Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Very cool but I doubt it will be a big seller. 3 engines on a plane that would normally only use 1 at that size is probably not cost effective.
