Or F1 1965 for that matter.

Modern F1 has way too many settings to keep track of and manage for my pea brain. Give me a steering wheel, three pedals and a H-shifter, and we have a race. A slow one for sure, but at least I can manage that much :)

AC has an excellent 1967 mod with full grid and season tracks. iRacing has the Lotus 49, but unfortunately no other :(

Including full VR support is huge news for this franchise. Glad I purchase a wheel/pedal setup last year. It won't see near the time I put in with flight sims, but I will be enjoying the occasional foray back into some sim racing.

Who’d a thunk VR would be as mainstream as causal gaming eh?

This really is great news. The more mainstream VR gets, the better support, faster development and lower prices. My dream of  PiMax level of FOV, Aero level of clarity and G2 level of ergonomics and price might be closer than I envisioned. :fly:

Yeah this is really huge for the VR industry overall. Hopefully now that they have joined in on VR more mainstream game developers will as well.

I care less, time-consuming and frustrating flight sims will take all my time available.

There are no time for crashing a F 1 car

Besides, I would get motion sick using VR in such a game

That is a very valid AND real concern. When I first started VR, “driving” night while I was getting my VR legs were much more sickening than the “flight” nights. ?

I put a few hours in Automobilista 2 in VR and did not have any motion sick issues with it. Guess with all the hours I have in VR now I have become immune to it.

Oh mine was right after I got the G2. Was doing one night of flying and one night of driving. Trying to keep it under 30 minutes a night. For whatever reason, driving nights affected me worse than flying.

now that I have a year under VR, multiple hours with no effect. Driving or flying.

I haven't played the video...just testing myself on that screen grab first.

Silverstone yes?

It's been too long since my GPL days...I miss those tracks.

...and cars.

I love the flow of that circuit.

GPL changed my life...I loved those cars when they were contemporary so when GPL was released I bought my first wheel and no one saw me for about six months.
Modders did a great job keeping it up to date and looking good.
Now when I want that kind of racing jolt I do rFactor2 historics, Eves and Sparks, great, fun race cars!  The F1's are terrifying to drive, awesomness!
We have an rFactor2 F3 Fanatics league that drives the old F3's ... superfun!

My wife would be truly beyond annoyed with me if aside from my countless hours 3D modeling, mission-building and flying…I purchased another driving setup.

I am so much away from home, my wife knows I need flying sim, so she say nothing when I do, but if I start with cars, I have 3 choices , her and plane, her and car or car and plane without her

At least I’m not going to push it there and find out for sure.

Doesn't seem cheap adventure!

It is when you drive with an Xbox controller ‘liberated’ from the kids ?

I was driving Assetto Corsa Competizione with an X-Box controller for a while. I put extensions on the joysticks to increase control.

Have to say, I got pretty damn good...my Spa and Monza times where pretty respectable though nowhere near "Alien"...was loving the Porsche 911.

Then I started back in with the flight sim content and haven't booted it since. I think I'd be hard pressed to drive a 65-67 F1 car like that without some serious time investment.

I purchased a Logitech G27 wheel, pedals , and shifter over a year ago. Have probably used it around 30 hours total if that.

I will dust it off again when this sim is released for sure. I have it mounted on a wheel stand pro and in a corner of my office here just sitting there. I found I did not much care for the shifter, seemed much easier for me to just use the paddle shifters on the wheel. And of course with the F1 cars it is realistic. I will probably remove the shifter and the extension to my wheel stand pro for it, would certainly consolidate it's overall size.

I may even try removing it from the wheel stand pro and just mount it on my desk and pedals in floor. Would certainly save a little hassle.

Thx for the tip!

I really liked racing games back in the day.....if i go that way shifter will be optional and postponed purchase

Ok so just pre-ordered the Championship Edition. At least I have a few weeks before dusting off my wheel and pedal setup.

This one I could not pass up.
