The thick black smoke from a 'city fire' isn't obscuring certain other things as I think it should.

'Signal Fires', vehicle dust trails, and icons - all seem unaffected through the black smoke.

In the case of signal fires, they appear illuminated through the smoke which looks a bit off.

Cheers.

There are indeed odd behaviors and weird effects, like the dust and dirt that is lifted by vehicles. Depending on the illumination they light up and are bright like they fluoresce as phosphorus. It creates a strange difference between the light effect on the vehicle and the one on the dust. It should be toned down. However in the snow as the dust is made of ice particles the can be very luminous indeed. Depending on lighting there are various strange effects but these are probably a consequence of the lighting model and how it is implemented, and that he cannot handle properly all the various interactions or combinations.

On that same topic I have seen Lumen from Unreal5 demos, that show incredible global illumination capability at 80 fps even for complex environments.
