Hard landings never cause any damage to my landing gears!

I have been flying for some time now and most often manage to make a reasonable smooth landing.

However, I have had some very hard touchdowns before, but never broke the landing gears!

Are they indestructible or what?

You probably need to try harder. I've had little difficulty collapsing the gear in multiple aircraft. ?

 

For an easy one, try the I-16. It has a habit of turning perfectly respectable landings into something from that Laurel and Hardy would have been proud of at the slightest provocation.

Okay, maybe my landings were not as bad as I thought then, lol.

I suppose it does not matter what kind of game settings you have? I have only played in "normal" mode so far and not in "expert"

Have not tried the I-16 yet, will do that and see if it´s landing gear is more fragile than the others!

'Normal' vs 'expert' has no effect on the damage model.

 

As for trying the I-16, if you haven't tried it yet, you are in for some fun. A quirky little beast...

like before we couldn't kill the pilot with a belly landing... but now we can

Hopefully in the future we will break off the landing gear easily.

I'm afraid you will get killed before you break a landing gear. Happened to me several times: bad landing, pilot killed and an aircraft rolling to stop on an undamaged gear

Well, one more thing to look forward to being corrected in a future

I haven't broken landing gear by having a hard landing but you can easily break them if you skid sideways when accidentally turning.

Yes, that´s more how it was feeling to me!

I agree that it would be very nice if it was more realistic in this way, but as you say, hopefully it will be corrected in the future.

That is something I never have experienced yet, getting killed by a bad landing, but I am sure it will come!

Right now I actually think it´s harder to take off, than to land, because of the effect that pulls very hard to the side in some planes.

So far I don´t taxi very much on the ground, because I easily get dizzy from it (VR) but I hope this will get better soon.

I only play singleplayer for now, but I really enjoy it ?.
