Flashy Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Hi all, Is there anyway to "force" the launcher to resume its download where it left off last time? The launcher downloads the game very slowly, and if you need to switch off or reboot your machine at all it then restarts the download from scratch next time! Its becoming a major issue when trying to install the game for new players because it takes hours and hours to download the 30gb and if they have to reboot or turn off their computer at any time during that process then they are back to square one..
DD_FT- Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 I doubt whether it really does that. In a recent re-install, I did indeed stop it and rebooted the pc in an attempt to increase download speed. Upon resuming it appeared to be first checking the already downloaded part, and next resume where it left off. Initially it reported xxx of 34GB downloaded, and the second attempt it stated xx of 28GB downloaded. (Checking the already downloaded part did take some time though)
Flashy Posted April 19, 2022 Author Posted April 19, 2022 Oh, thats very strange then.. It took me like a week to finally download the game a while back because every time the launcher failed (for a variety of reasons) and I resumed it, it would start from 0 again.. I had even got to 50% of the download at one point when I had a power failure and had to shut down my computer, and it started from 0 when I tried again later.. I have also recently gifted a key to my friend and he is having the exact same issue - download starts at 0 every time .. is there maybe a setting or something to resume that I am missing?
CountZero Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 it starts at 0 but amount it needs to download decresses by amount you downloaded last time, thats how it worked last time i checked.

Yep, that's what I meant to say... In my case, the initial download was at the start 0% of 34GB, second attempt started at 0% of 28GB. It's all like relative...
