... just snagged this baby as it was on sale in Steam and now I'm at a loss as to how to operate the engine/prop.

The specs seem to suggest there are three general settings...

1. Auto continuous - maintaining 2200 RPM at 100% throttle

2. Auto Combat / emergency - maintaining 2400 RPM at 100% throttle or 2500 at boosted power

3. fully manual pitch control

The in-cockpit selector switch near the throttle lever seems to support this.. there are three settings labeled "M", "A" and "S" on there. I assume "M" = manual, "A" = automatic "S" = sports-mode. My Italian is rusty and even then it was just Latin I ever studied, not the modern language. ;)

Thing is, that I can't switch the thing into "S"-mode. I have the "switch prop control between manual and auto"-function mapped to my throttle, but that will only switch between "M" and "A" in-cockpit. I have both available RPM control functions mapped to the same hat switch on my throttle (hat 0°/180° to "Propeller RPM control" and "propellers: high pitch" to hat 0° and propellers: low pitch" to hat 180°. Since no plane needs *both* functions at the same time AFAIK, I figured I could just map them to the same hat.

Anyway: Those controls do nothing when prop is set to "auto" (as they shouldn't) and seem to simply adjust the pitch fully manually in "manual" mode. So what I'm looking for is that "sports-mode" that supposedly lets me access the 2400 RPM/combat setting. As is, all I can get is 2200 RPM and "continuous" in "auto" at 100% throttle according to the techno chat. Both the in-cockpit graphics and the plane's description seem to suggest this in-between mode is available, but I have no idea how to access it.

I've searched the keymapper multiple times for some sort of special command, but I didn't find anything beyond the functions I've mapped to my throttle already for other planes.

Thanks!

That did the trick. Silly me.
