Faltun Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 (edited) Hey Guys! As i learned the basics of the fighters in the sim, i came to the point when i had to to decide which planes i want to master, which playstyle i like. Definitely 109 and Yak playstyle is very simple and boring in my opinion. I dont like those, even though flying the 109 with the proper tactics is kinda god mode in eastern front scenario. I found out i love the 190 and the LA-5 playstyle, its much harder and less forgiving and much more fun for me. I like the La-5 more because it has engine management. Flying the La-5 against 109 F-4 is really challenging. They got all the advantages except deck top speed and roll rate. Most of the time i fly online on finnish virtual pilot server. I only flew 2 active months with the La-5 yet, i still need to improve a lot, this is why im writing this post. So i got the basic engine management (100% oil radiator, 0-10% outlet cowl, adjust them if needed, and mixture management for saving fuel), i use trim to make my plane fly straight but nothing complex and i kinda know whats the advantage of my plane thats my current basic knowledge. Im sure there are some expert pilot here who can help me with advice flying the La-5 like how to make her turn better and how to lose the least energy when turning or doing manoeuvres and some badass tactics against 109s. Most of the time i dont touch the RPM, i just use it on 100% i only reduce it when i have engine dmg and want to get back to the base, but im sure there are some other situations when i can get some advantage by using it the same can be said about trim i use it only to make my plane fly straight or some basic trims when i dive to an enemy. Please let me know every little complex engine management tricks or smooth plane control or trim control or tactics you know about the La-5 that can give me even the smallest improvement to my La-5 skill. Thank You! Edited April 15, 2022 by Faltun 1
