Unusual, minor, vsync issue.

Hello. ?
I have a 144hz monitor. I have set my monitor to run at 120hz in nvidia control panel so as to run the game at a lower fps with vsync on. The problem is, is that the fps counter still shows 144fps with vsync enabled. This is with vsync enabled either in game or nvidia control panel.
This doesn't happen with any other game i play, the fps will show as 120fps w/vsync enabled.
Any ideas?
