Time line for Normandy and FC2 release

Taking a look at the Devposts and such, I expect the last planes and map to drop at the beginning of Summer and by the end of it, probably the Career and the final touches.

Probably we will learn what the next expansion is in a matter of weeks?

Not a realistic timeline, we need it make it as accurately as possible, time is a spiral, we going to need a new time model.  Need to collect data and references.

I'd say late summer if we factor in some room for unexpected delays. However devs are pretty good at sticking to their schedule overall.

IIRC, Jason mentioned a while ago that 1C's ability to make any more products in this series would be in danger if they didn't manage to release BoN by June 2022. Given that, judging by the Dev diaries, several aircraft have taken longer to complete than expected, this does worry me somewhat...

It'd be perfect if it wasn't next to impossible.

 

I think we'd be very lucky to get it by June 30th. That'd still require a Herculean effort to release the Mosquito, the 410, and the Arado--arguably the most difficult planes of the entire DLC package, given their newness to the sim--in the next ~10 weeks.

We still haven't seen the Cliffs of Dover on the Normandy map and we've only seen early WIP images of the Normandy map; also, we just saw the first in-game images of the B-26. 

I doubt BoN Update 5.001 will be out in June. And I'm certain that Jason's bosses can grant him some flexibility if they wanted BoN out in June 2022 but due to everything going on in the world BoN will be out by the end of August at the latest.

Well whenever we get it, it will be great! I would be very surprised if we saw it in June. As previously mentioned with everything going on in the world today I am sure some slack can be cut them in that regard.

At the rate of all the questions, I am personally going to start replying with the Golden Classic - "Two weeks".

We all want it. Even I have pre-purchased it.
The developers and all the team do a great job.
It will be released when it is ready and it will be up to the usual high standard.

Yup, and it’s things like the V1 etc that probably still need to be finished, aircraft such as the 410 and Arado can’t be easy to model due to their rare nature as well! I’d rather them take their time and deliver and amazing product that we all know they will.

PTO won't be anytime soon... you can't even discuss it properly on the PTO section on these forums... asking for it has been done to death anyway.

However, I'd be pleased as hell if Jason chimed in and told me to shut my face as it's coming next!

IL-2, like all software projects, has funding with a timeline attached. Eventually either the money runs out or more cash needs to be injected or everything stops. Undoubtedly wiggle room has been built in but June 2022 is when they need to wrap it up and move on to the next product or set of products.

I for one hope they came to an agreement in case June 2022 isn't possible. But i doubt their publisher would just cut them off considering the situation and how beloved the IL-2 series is. I think the franchise experienced a continous growth over the last years. I don't think they want to jeopardize that

@ShamrockOneFive. You are right of course. This was just me... wishfull thinking... Something like... they need to wrap up what they were doing and will start working on their next big project. 

Best way to get future content asap is to buy everything upfront. This not only shows our support but allows them to hire more Devs. 

We know these guys can be trusted. They will do everything in their power to deliver... as they always did.

Are you speculating? No statements have been made to my knowledge that support Sept/Oct 2022. To date the most confirmation we've got is from Jason who has said that they aim to be finished by the end of Q2 or June 2022.

According to Jason, they are in the timeline, which should mean end of june. So Mosquito and/or Ar 234 in may and Me 410 and maybe the second one, together with map and career mode in june.

Totally agree! I'm so excited for those 3 aircraft, don't know which one i'm most looking forward to! Even if the June date does slip, because they are still sorting out the final details, i'd rather have it a bit later but with everything sorted than it be rushed.

That there were a feew delays with some aircrafts doesn't mean, that the game will be delayed, as the map and the career mode are different developer's tasks, than the developement of the aircrafts. So if they get the remaining three aircrafts developed in time, and Jason seems to be quite sure they will, then there is a good chance they will make it in time. But I am quite sure most players won't bother too much, if after all, what happened in this crazy world the last two years, there would be a bit of a delay for the release.
