Zooropa_Fly Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 I'm hoping that someone will upload a screenshot of a working routine where a bomber successfully drops its load on a target. I've used the same logic that's worked before, but it doesn't work now. The HP also refuses landing commands, but I'll worry about that later. These things seem to be hit or miss if they work or not - without discernable logic as to why they work sometimes, and sometimes not. Time away from the ME doesn't ease any frustrations using the bloody thing again ! Thanks in advance, S!
AEthelraedUnraed Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 I'm not behind my PC now so I can't make screenshots, but an AttackArea MCU with the "Attack Ground" checkbox checked (and object-linked to the bomber of course) should work fine. Be sure to give the bomber a long enough attack run; preferably have the last waypoint before the AttackArea MCU at least 10km away and in a straight line towards the target. That said, for a variety of reasons, bombers may occasionally fail to drop their bombs. I guess a CheckArea MCU target-linked to a ForceComplete MCU with the drop ordnance checkbox checked (both MCU's object-linked to the bomber) should work here. 1

I think keeping the waypoint far away from, and in-line with the target might be the secret. Then after a short 'timer' - 'on bingo bombs' triggers 'force complete' and the landing routine. The swine's now land too ! Appreciate the assistance, S! ZF. 1
