O*Conner Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Could we get a flaps axis along side the key commands for flaps up and down? 1
Charon Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Not a bad idea, although not many planes would use it. The Lavochkins use a pair of push-buttons. The Yaks use a P-47 style Open/Neutral/Close lever. The Hurricane uses a similar system, except it's coupled with the gear. The Spitfire uses a two-position toggle. The 109s could use it, but the pilot has to physically crank the flaps down, so it's slow and it would be easy for your axis to get ahead of the in-game position. The Mig-3 could also use it for the limiter, and it would be an improvement to how that flap system is modeled. And it would work great for the P-51.
SharpeXB Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 (edited) People will cheat by double-mapping that with their pitch axis. I think that’s why it’s not on the menu. PS I see you said “flaps” not “stabilizer trim”. Trim is where the cheat is… Edited April 10, 2022 by SharpeXB
