Roland_HUNter Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Greetings! Please Developers, do something with the instant fire extinction...it'll make the game pretty unplayable. Today I set on fire a Lagg-3 with Emil, his fuel tank instantly extinguished. He dived to the deck, with a pretty big dmg, he still managed to maneuver, but I set him on fire again with my 7.92, and then...again..instantly the fire was extinguished....Sadly I have not recorded this phenomenon. But I met with this previously. 1
69th_Mobile_BBQ Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Like I said before (which obviously and conveniently was ignored) self-extinguishing fires and 'flash' fires are a real-life thing. Believe it or not, a sudden flood of gasoline can choke the oxygen supply and put out a fire. 2
Roland_HUNter Posted April 10, 2022 Author Posted April 10, 2022 Twice in a row? Even from the fuselage? Please...

There are many factors that could prevent the fire from 'taking hold' or that can extinguish a newly-formed fire quickly. The example I cited was just one. Simply because you ignited 2 fires on the same plane does not guarantee that they will keep burning. Fire Triangle - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics 2
I./JG52_Woutwocampe Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 Ah yes, they even modelled the delta wood for the lagg3. Gotta love the level of realism!
Sitaro Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 NO, someone did a in game test to show how completely ridiculous the fire modeling is as far as extinguishing them. I have a feeling the people wanting it left want to be able to easily extinguish a fire.
ST_Catchov Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 I fly a bus of wood, wire and flammable doped linen manufactured by women in a factory owned by a war profiteer with connections to the War Office using sub-standard and cheap material and you think I don't appreciate the ability to put out a fire quickly ? 1
Guest deleted@219798 Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 I fired on a 109 F multiple times. There were gaping holes in the wings and fuselage, yet he still managed to pull tight turns and dives. Also trailing a lot of fuel vapour. Next burst set him alight. Then the fire went out. Ended up killing the pilot and that was that. has the DM changed. A plane thrown around like that with that amount of damage would probably break apart.
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 Last time when I was hit at wing with 30 mm ,109K4 was pain to fly straight. Dogfighting was out of option. The plane capabilities after damage depends of caliber impact, not the visual damage which has only 3 levels of detail.
