HS 123, why don’t we have it?

Is there any reason we don’t have the HS 123 in the sim? Was loved by pilots and served with distinction in the eastern front and would be cool to have a biplane ground attack plane to play with!

I'm glad they put effort into more interesting planes

It is pretty interesting I think. It's a biplane for starters, so that adds a different element. I appreciate it's not super glamorous, but would be a realistic addition to the collection of aircraft we currently have. I mean, yeah, I'd love a HE162, or a DO339 but like I say, the 123 saw a lot of service on the Eastern Front.

This and the I-153 would make a great premium aircraft sale pairing.  Toss in the Gloster Gladiator and Fiat Cr 42 Falco, and I'd be in heaven.

Ooooo. I’d love that!

That would be a very cool premium bundle, indeed!

I would buy that even without considering ?

I think that's a bit harsh. :) I for one would love the 123, and other early-war aircraft!

The reason is simply that the team doesn't have the time nor the money to put any effort into a Hs-123. They are only able to make a limited number of high-quality aircraft in the busy schedule they have. There's simply no way we can have both the Hs-123 AND, for example, the Me-410. Getting the 123 in game would mean that the Devs have no time left to also do the 410.

On second thought, let them keep the 410. It's an ugly bastard anyway.

If I wanted to fly something that has more than the 2 wings needed for good looking planes I would have a gold bar with the letters FC next to my name. I prefer good looking two winged planes. Not those freak planes with four or six wings ?

The Hs123 would make a great addition for a "Battle of Smolensk" package:

LW:

Bf109E-4/B

Bf110C-7 (actually not sure which C- or D-series would be best here)

Ju87B-2

Do17Z-2

Hs123A-1/B-1

VVS:

I-153 & I-153P

DB-3

SB-2

Early LaGG-3

Early Yak-1

Is there a reason why the planes that don't exist in the sim don't exist yet? Why don't we have all planes in the world?

The answer to this question also answers the HS 123 question.

Whilst the developers have the standard planes, ie. ME109, ME110, etc. They have also gone for some "different" planes. Such as Ardo 234, ME410, etc.

I personally find it enjoyable to fly some of the off the beaten tried & tested "safe" planes.

One plane I would like to see, but don't stand a cat in hells chance, is the BV141. But one with slight chance, the FW189.

I wouldn't mind the Hs-123.

I'd probably use it very rarely, but it'd be nice to have around.

Yeah I realise that obviously as well there’s a commercial side to the aircraft that are developed and maybe types such as the HS123 wouldn’t really sell that well. I guess maybe, whatever series comes after Normandy might well have a selection of the types listed above, such as the Fw189 etc - that is if they chose to go pre Moscow!

I think the FW 189 would be a better choice of the two but I'm not sure how much it was used in the European theater.

Speaking of which they're pretty well invested now in this portion of the war and I don't think they will have any real plans on doing anything pre Moscow or anything like that.

Just my two kopeks worth that's all.

I think it would be an interesting counterpart to the Po-2, especially for campaign flyers. It could imagine interesting CAS missions e. g.

Its use as a CAS bird is something that would justify its integration in the sim, especially together with Tank Crew.
