How can I choose a plane to fly

I am a completely newbie on servers.

I have joined the EU Official 1C server name Battle of Kuban but I can only be Spectator or Gunner. I see no possibility to have a plane as a pilot. And I saw that there were 12 players out of a max of 45 I think.

Any help is welcome. Thanks

Just click on an icon on the map - it will open a window where you can select your plane according to the side you chose.
