S! all

We had reports of 14 enemy aircraft over Moslains, we thought they were doing the recon, J5 Baeumer and J5 Wolff were going for the recon, my job was to cueball the formation and disrupt it. I was helped in this by a fellow DVII, who also glued most of the escort to his tail. It's a shame the cameras stopped working before the end of the fight (file too big msg for me).

Thx to Gascan for letting me use his footage.

Most of the soundtrack is taken from the Ghost recon game, on the 1st track there is a swear word, I didn't hear it until the film was finished, so parental guidance and all that.

cheers

Good stuff! That was a fun mission, with a massive dogfight at the end. Unfortunately my rudder got disabled in the opening pass and my left engine was flamed (it went out in the dive, but seized shortly after). It was a real struggle to duck underneath the other bombers and avoid a collision as my machine pulled hard to the left from the uneven thrust. I've still got a lot to learn about level-bombing from altitude and setting up attack runs, otherwise we'd have gotten more targets. I really appreciate all the players who showed up to escort us: several attackers were driven down before the big attack on the way home. And a big thanks for making a great video, Daedallus!

Great video Deadallus.

I was one of the escorting pilots there. As soon as we crossed into enemy territory I was on the  edge. Haven't been so deep past frontline in a long while. We were doing a great job with the escort for a long time. I was relieved when the bombers started heading west towards our lines and for a while I though we may actually pull it off. Then all hell broke loose.

At this stage it was already an hour long sortie for me and a little fatigue and relaxation started to kick in , we were so close from the frontline. Your (central pilots) attack was a total surprise to me. I was the Camel fighting you for quite a while, I was very impressed with your flying. In later stages of thee fight my pilot was on the verge of blacking out so I had to ease off the stick a little. I was wondering how were you able to pull all these manoeuvres and I was very happy when you decided to disengage and return to your airfield.

I saluted you and went home on the deck, looking over my shoulder all the way. An hour and twenty minutes sortie, bounced by DVIII shortly after crossing the frontline, somehow I managed to get back to our airfield and land.

Great sortie, thanks bomber guys and all involved. I wish we could've protect you better, I was a bit down when you got shot down.
