ErnstUdet25 Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 (edited) I might like to point out that Udet's DVIIF is incorrect. The wings should have black and white stripes across and it's totally missing the art on the tail. In addition, the nose should be black. Udet painted it black shortly after he got it. I'm sure he would be up in arms if his plane was modeled so incorrectly. I'd like to make it correct myself if I could. I hope this inaccuracy is remedied soon. I might have a few words with the developers myself. Signed, Udet Thanks Edited March 26, 2022 by ErnstUdet25 1 1
JGr2/J5_Klugermann Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 It will probably happen after the drop tanks are implemented. I'm not looking at the sim right now, so I have no idea what the existing in-game Udet skin looks like. Perhaps you can post a picture of it. However, from The Aerodrome, we have this information from a user named Jagdpanzer. http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18600 Quote In the Osprey book Fokker DVII Aces of WWI, Part 1 by Norman Franks and Greg VanWyngarden, three of Udet's DVII's are illustrated. OAW DVII serial unknown, a second OAW with unknown serial, and DVII 4253/18. The first has the black nose of Jasta 4, black struts, and a black and white striped top wing. The authors speculate the striping could have been in red, but Udet flew other aircraft with black and white striping before the DVII. I did a skin recently for this machine for Wings Of War, a PC flight sim: (Note the striping is incorrect because of mirroring issues in the sim, but the colors conform to the above authors impressions.) The second OAW DVII has the black Jasta 4 markings as above, but the machine is covered in lozenge fabric on both surfaces of the wings and the entire fuselage as well. It carries Udet's personal Lo! markings and his white chevron on the tail. 4253/18 Has the entire nose and fuselage in red with Udet's personal markings, red struts and wheelcovers, and wings in lozenge fabric. Hope this helps.... So, there are three known Udet Fokker D.VIIs. Is it possible that you're referring to the first, while the game currently has a version of the second or third? Should've made the wings red or black or something. Black struts would be nice too.
