I have a basic question I couldn't find the FAQ

Forgive me such a basic question- I'm just getting back into IL-2 after having brain surgery last year, and I forget some simple things...

So I had purchased pretty much all the modules (BoM, BoS, Tank Crew, Flying Circus, etc) and they are all available from Steam which is great. I did not purchase them through Steam, and I can't remember why they are available through steam.

My question is this:I really want to buy Battle of Normandy- I see the promo code does not work with this, but I don't care. I *cannot remember how/why my IL-2 products are all available in steam*. So if I buy directly through the website, will it still be available in the Steam version?

I hope this question is clear, sorry if it's something obvious. I just don't want to spend $80 and not be able to use it.

You can purchase from the store or through Steam. Purchasing from the store gives the DEV’s a higher profit margin and is therefore better for development. You can (and did) link all of your content through Steam. So, make purchases through the Il2 store and play all of it in Steam.
