Realistic Game Settings

S! folks,

Some of us from AH (Aces High) IL-2 Sturmovik are looking to get a jump on this prior to live availibility.

Personality I wanted to check out some of the vids from youtube before committing to the financial aspect of the game.

All vids I have seen show an enemy directional arrow on all dogfights. We in AH pretty much fly as realistic as we can short of

views, etc. I am pretty sure the enemey directional arrows can be removed correct? Just looking for a little conformation.

Hi!

 

Yes, you can disable them, as well as the tags, and when Online at some Expert MP Session they'll never be available, so..., you'd better train your eyes to find the others, and discern friends from foes !

Hi JimDandy,

 

if you want realism this is the one for you. The expert servers are serious stuff as far as navigation, aircraft identification and engine management go. I find it a real challenge to get close enough to identify an aircraft and keep a tactical advantage before opening fire, occasionally opening up on a friendly (as we all have, haven't we?)

 

Get it, it's great fun.

Former AH player myself, this is more realistic if played on Expert settings.

Funny, I've never actually seen a video with them on. But then I haven't been looking for "gameplay" videos either, only been looking at the cinematic stuff. In any case, yeah, there are numerous realism settings. Things that can be turned off include navigation helpers (both on map and in sky), object icons, external views and even the HUD.

I watched  yours youtube videos, very cool with nice choice of music! Nice flying too. thx  I am personally having trouble to fly strait, especially strafing attacks, where the plane feels like flouting on water, swinging from side to side while i am trying to corrected with a rudder. Any advice i could get? True is i have old joystick where i manage rudder with twisting the stick, but it makes the plane wobble too much.
