What size are the sector squares on maps?

Just curious, what size are the sector squares on the maps? trying to get a feel of the square miles of the maps. Thx

I've always assumed they were 10 km on a side.

Your are right. In the ME the numbered sectors are 10x10km or 100km2. This is true for all maps. They have a sub grid of 9 units which are 3.3333x3.3333km each or 11.11km2.
