Majpalmer Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 I started a new PWFC career, and no one has a scarf. Hardly a game stopper, but I wonder where they went?
=IRFC=kotori87 Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 The scarves are no longer the long hollywood-esque things trailing behind the pilots and flapping in the wind for all to see, like in Rise of Flight. They are tightly wrapped around the pilot's neck and tucked underneath his heavy coat, the better to keep him warm at altitude. Much more difficult to see now, but still present.
ST_Catchov Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 As a nipper I watched a 1930 film on TV called Flight Commander (aka Dawn Patrol, not to be confused with the 1938 Errol Flynn remake). The memory of that film has stayed with me and. amongst other things, forged my interest in WW1 aviation at such a tender age when girls were yucky things and of no interest. I note that in this short sequence there are no scarves billowing in the slipstream. However there is a streamer attached to the rear of the helmet? Rank?
Zooropa_Fly Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Pony tails for boys - contraversial in those days. 1

Majpalmer Posted April 3, 2022 Author Posted April 3, 2022 Thanks Katori87. Rise of Flight had flowing scares, and I guess I was looking for the same in FC. Now I see the wrapped scarves. And, yes, it does make more sense.
