In any case, 1C Company remains Russian, based in Moscow.

1C ENTERTAINMENT, which owns BLITZ/TOBRUK was sold by 1C to Tencent... 1C ENTERTAINMENT is not based in Moscow.

It is based in Europe... in various locations, including Poland, Czech Republic, etc.

1C, (original umbrella company which previously owned 1C ENTERTAINMENT) also has a business software company, that division is totally separate and is not owned by Tencent.

Well, Buzzsaw, this is what I said: 1C Company is based in Moscow. 1C Entertainment is a different entity, wherever it is based, and that's the one that has been sold to Tencent.

Many of us are eagerly awaiting the next installment in the Dover series and this is why Buffo started the present thread. He was well intentioned in doing so.

Just wanted everyone to understand they are not supporting a Russian entity when they support BLITZ/TOBRUK and further development.

Hopefully TF will be able to make that leap of imagination and do some actual PR instead of the semi-paranoid, knowledge-is-power trip they've been on since MysticPuma left TF.

Mystic left TF pretty much BECAUSE of that attitude so it's nothing new unfortunately however we might wish it. I see from FB that he seems to be taking up the mantle again, even posting the latest patch notes days before TF did. Maybe there has been some pride swallowed and some deal done? Who knows.

On the subject of a pre order, I think that is probably the worst in a long history of suggestions for TF for a while host of reasons.

Lol, no deal done.

The guy who set up the CloD FB page (not TFS FB page (that was me though ?)) asked me to help admin it as he wasn't around anywhere near as much as before.

At the moment it is pretty much just me as admin. of the CloD FB page.

I read the forums and see news/images/posts  that aren't posted on other forums or the TFS page so I share them there.

I would add, it did feel strange posting the 5.031 update on the CloD FB page 3-days before TFS decided to post it on theirs?

Finally, there may be some some misinterpretation of my posts that I hate CloD or constantly find fault.

I still enjoy CloD hence constantly posting updates, pictures, videos on the CloD FB page. Enjoying CloD though is an exercise in frustration simply because no-one shares anything with the community and it is just a "it's coming", "out this year", "update soon", "in Alpha", "in Beta", "in Alpha".... and all that happens is the community speculate, guess and then got mocked for trying to stay interested. It is quite bizarre! Questions asked get shot down by self appointed CloD defenders when 'we' are all actually on the same side.

I just want to enjoy CloD to it's fullest. I don't understand why skinners haven't added to the vast amount of aircraft available for reasons only they know (in comparison to other aims that get a huge following), sad the there isn't an official QMB like the old 1946 or BoX for single players, sad that Single Players don't seem to be the target for the team, sad that long term issues like changing load outs for Single missions involve a convoluted workaround rather than simple click and play, sad the servers are effectively dead apart for the occasional special events, sad the team aren't a little more open and have developer discussions on the forums.... etc, etc.

I find it ludicrous to say that answering questions or posting Work in Progress takes the team away from getting the project finished faster. Engaging with your player base and publicising what you are doing actually keeps the product in focus and relevant.  Being obtuse does not help engage with your customers.

So I posted two or three pics of a He-111 attacking a fuel depot yesterday on the CloD FB page.

So far these have had 1200+ views. The player base is there, the interest is there, I just don't know why TFS is so reticent to publicise their product ?

Finally I am looking forward to seeing the new graphics update. I don't care for VR (yet) and will enjoy making videos with it but currently BoX is holding my interest (smoke/fire/explosion/leaks effects are still way better in Clod!) especially with it's new weather system.

Whether CloD and Truesky plus 10x the draw distance and new graphics effects will be as fantastic as hoped will be seen someday (I still predict Christmas 2022).

Final point, I remember when the forums were absolutely alive with excitement (a bit like BoX forums are now) but over the long months of development with barely any news and all secrets, smoke and mirrors the readers/posters on the forums have all but faded away. There just seems to be a very few of us, those of us asking for news and those of us saying don't be impatient (4 years later).

One thing that must be obvious, those of us posting here are interested in Clod, whether questioning or defending it.... we still hold an interest. How long the stragglers remain will depend on what interest TFS can generate in this and their possible v6 update and contents but based on their current interactions.... I have no idea what those expectations hold.

Cheers, MP

(still interested, just disappointed with the teams interaction with the community)

S!

Have not flown much lately, but there seems to be people on TWC and ATAG. The wait for new features can be hard at times and sure would be nice to see pics or teaser clips posted :)

Perhaps a point is reached at which it is determined that no sustainable initiative will improve the outlook substantially.

Only time will tell.

Anyway, Dagwoodyt, I simply cannot understand this obsession of yours in so often showing how low are the numbers of online players in this game. Who cares? The game is worth it as it is.

I started playing flight sims 30 years ago (by September/October of 1992 more exactly) and we didn't have the multiplayer mode at the time. I Spent years playing the solo mode and didn't try the multiplayer experience until 2006. Thus, even if the internet had never existed, a flight sim can be worth it. Cliffs of Dover is worth it. On its own.

Otherwise, yes, the multiplayer mode is an important element in a present-day simulation and we hope that the community of this game will grow with the upcoming development. And if it doesn't... I DON'T CARE, the current numbers of online participants are, for me, sufficient enough. Last Monday I made two sorties and bullets, shot by Spitfires, Spitfires flown by players, violently pounded my Folgore. I didn't get any victory this time but I was very happy to bring back my plane in the two sorties. I don't need thousands of players for having action in this game.

I don't do MP, but Steam tracks my Blitz' hours.

So far as I am aware the stats include SP and MP activity on Steam. I don't want to conflate "online" activity with MP as that would imply more MP activity than may actually exist.

CloD participation seems to be declining over time despite numerous game patches/updates. As such there does not seem much incentive for the Team to alter its' communication style.

The steam stats track all users, not just MP players you're correct.

I'd have thought the dwindling and declining numbers would be exactly the incentive to change the communication style, draw a line in the sand and commit to meeting deadlines.

As for the other chaps sentiments, well I don't understand them and I'll leave it there.
