Voyager Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 The basic problem is, the P47 has three discrete handles, one for each bomb rack, while the Il-2 engine isn't really designed to handle individual bomb release buttons. Mapping the bombs to several possible release configurations is a good compromise solution, but has an issue; there is not a cockpit indicator of which bombs are going to go, without tech chat being enabled. I think a possible solution to that would be to use the handles themselves as indicators. Have them tilt one way if they are the active bombs, and tilt them the other if they aren't. I don't think they're locked in their orientation on the plane, and it could serve as a reasonable way to show what's gong to go when you push the button. Thank you, Harry Voyager 6
Charon Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 IIRC, the P-47 also has arming handles to the left of the seat, which could be used for this.
