Computer stuck on loading page for hours

Hi. I am having some difficulty loading IL 2 Great Battles. My computer has been stuck on the loading page for hours and I can’t get out of it. I’ve turned my laptop off and on again, didn’t fix it. I also unplugged my laptop to let it run out of power, and that didn’t fix it. Would anyone have an answer why this is happening and how I can fix it.

Thanks

Stuck on the IL-2 loading page? Just kill it in the Task Manager

No, all the keys are all unresponsive apart from the power on/off key. The mouse is responsive though.

Sounds like  the machine not the stuff that's on it.

Raptorattacker is probably right. But to have an idea can you please give us the specifications of your laptop:

Laptop model:

Windows version:

CPU Model:

GPU Model:

RAM size:

DIS/SSD capacity and free capacity you had:

It is weird if you say that after having shut off completely the computer you are back at the IL2 loading page.

What can happen if you have very little RAM and that if your SSD is completely full and you have a lot of background applications you may get into pagination issues and windows gets stuck in its starting process. But windows should restart at least and you should be able to access the bios and it seems that not.

Had this problem too after the update.  Here is what I did to correct the problem:
1.  If you have custom skins, pilot notes/photos, copy the skins and planes folders to somewhere safe.
2.  Also to be safe backup your input and snapview folders too.
3.  Delete the contents in the updates folder in the main BOS directory.
4.  Run the launcher..it will analyze your files and fix any corrupt files.
5.  Test to see if it starts ok...mine did....if so copy back the folders you backed up.

And if you use mods disable all of them prior to doing this....good luck.

Hi mate try verifying “integrity of game cache” in steam.

Right click il2 in steam, properties, verify

also, make sure anti virus is not blocking it

Oh, I eventually learned how to shut down my laptop (holding down the on/off button for a while), tried again and failed, then waited until next day for a bug fix, and I was away.
