AndyJWest Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 Where's the 'Extend refuelling probe' option? ? 5 1 1
40plus Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I have spare HOTAS buttons at the ready to be assigned for this!! ?
JimTM Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 (edited) Once it's implemented, I wonder if "Switch fuel indicator" will press the button on the Spitfire fuel indicator? Edited March 17, 2022 by JimTM 2

Vishnu Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 This is why I run engine maintenance on auto. 1 1 4
=621=Samikatz Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 If I can manually trigger the fuel gauge in the Spitfire soon then I will finally be at peace 2

TheFace Posted March 17, 2022 Posted March 17, 2022 I think with fuel management the case could be made for needing clicky cockpits (or at least partial ones). In DCS I rarely bind any fuel management tasks to my panels, stick or throttles instead just using the click function. With the increasing task load, at least for me, it would be worth a look into. 1 2

Not to derail this thread by advocating for clickable cockpits in this game, I do agree that adding all of this Ctrl+..., Ctrl-Shift+..., Shift+... for Fuel management on top of all the other Ctrl+..., Ctrl-Shift+..., Shift+... for many other things makes the keyboard map even bigger and far more complex for us to just do a very basic thing like turning the fuel selector to another position and the Fuel pump On and Off. What we need instead is for Fuel management commands to be assigned to the Tab or Tilde key on the keyboard, let's say F4 is Fuel management and you have several numbers which have options such as turning the fuel selector to another position, Fuel pump on, switch fuel indicator, etc., etc.,. Much easier than all this Ctrl+..., Ctrl-Shift+..., Shift+... 3

Hoss Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 (edited) Voice Attack............. problem solved....................... When you run out of buttons, or worried about muscle memory in the middle of an engagement. Edited March 19, 2022 by Hoss 3
Charon Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 You all are all talking about not having enough buttons, and here I am just worried that they're not giving us enough binds! 1

When you run out of buttons, or worried about muscle memory in the middle of an engagement. I think having an ai assistant to carry out ship maintenance commands in my 1940's era aircraft would take me out of it. Its great in Elite Dangerous, i have used it to give wing orders in il2 and start recording and center trackir. 1
Hoss Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 (edited) I use it in single player only, for Comms with flight, ground crew. Everything else I have on my controllers to fly the plane. TMWH 120dx script, BlackHog Explorer. and one of Vitaly's (GVL) R/P/Y trim boxes. Hoss Edit: notice I said 120dx script? That does not work in IL2. so this is for DCS only, never use VA in Il2. Hoss Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 I don't use it at all in IL2, DCS only............. I don't see how opening my window (Mossie) and telling the ground crew to prime the engines vice pushing a button, picking up my mouse and hitting F1, F3, F2........ could be more immersive. Or then using my voice to tell them to remove chocks............ or asking the tower to start engine's, taxi, take off, etc...etc....etc....etc...... 2
