Key bindings for Virpil GOTAS

Just bought the game (yesterday 16th March 2022) and I'm having issues with the game not recognising my controls...The settings menu recognises the key presses but doesn't in the game when flying. Main inputs such as throttle power, pitch, roll are recognised but nothing else is. I bought the game for the VR capability (Valve Index) which I haven't tried yet so...I obviously I wish to map as many controls to my Virpil HOTAS as possible before using VR....can anyone advise?

 

I'm in the process of reinstalling the game using the default settings i.e. C:\Program Files\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\bin\game\ in the hope that that will fix it. The previous attempt I installed on a different drive (D:\ games etc)...a custom folder

What settings doesn't works and on what plane you are trying to setup?

I'd watch YouTube videos on setting up the Virpil software which isn't so straight forward.

This problem seems strange, and it seems most likely to me that you're forgetting to press 'save' when binding controls. ESC, as I recall, will silently discard changes.

 

Also recall that Il-2 supports only 64 buttons per device, so make sure you're testing with low-numbered buttons (e.g., the buttons on the throttle handle itself) so you can rule that out as a potential problem.
