Game won't launch after update 4.703

Good day all,
My game won't launch since I updated it to 4.703. The loading bar only makes it 1/4 across the first splash screen then it hangs, it never makes it to the login page.

Anyone got a suggestion of what is going on or what I can do, short of reinstalling.(my connection isn't super fast so trying to save that for the last resort)

Edit 1) OK,  I tried deleting the contents of the update folder, which made the game analyze it's files and D/L what...IDK. Again the  game seems ready to launch but hangs on the first screen.

 

Is it possible I can't connect/get a reply from the master server, and yet the update seemed to install smoothly?

My game also will not launch since the 4.703 update. The loading bar gets between a quarter to a third of the way through and just stops

Update.

 

After spending all day D/Ling the game again, at first it did the same thing, eg. hang on the first splash screen and stop responding. Then a few hours later it magically started working again. So I'm not sure what fixed it, the new D/L or the passage of time...

 

I'm looking forward to a time when the world can work and play nice with each other like normal people. Because, I have a feeling the current world situation is to blame here.

 

BTW the update seems good so far. Thanks for your hard work.

I just checked and it still wont open for me.

Same here. I haven't played for a while and today it automatically updated and I get a black screen after pressing start. I am so tired of this now that I stopped trying to fix it.

 

EDIT: I just found out that I can't start it in full screen anymore and have do disable that to be able to come further and start up the game. Is there a walk around for this?

OK so after doing a complete uninstall and reinstall (steam version) the game now runs again. I did have to wait about 5 or so minutes on the loading screen the first time around though. At first I thought it still wasn't working as it stopped around about the same point in the loading screen, but I left it for a while, made myself a coffee and when I came back it had opened.

I'm getting similar, though it's inconsistent. 
Just a black screen after clicking Play on the launcher. At no point does the loading screen with IL-2 logo appear.
Sometimes it opens ok though.

I am running Fullscreen at lower resolution (1080) than native for my monitor (1440).

It's damn frustrating tbh. If anyone has an idea, let me know.

Hey US103 Baer ...im getting the same thing ...ugh ...mine completely locks up my comp. and i haft to shut it down and turn it back on ...now once in a while it will load but after struggling to load up...but most of the time its just a black screen and i haft to restart

...anyone have any ideas?
