Hi all I am trying to get the trigger date time MCU to work but I am not successful. It will fire all the time no matter which date I set the mission to. I hoped I can make it fire only on certain dates.

I set it up to fire at 01/08/1918 and the mission date is set to 01/08/1917 and it will fire anyway...
Or does this trigger look for real date and not for the mission date?

Any help is appreciated...

Did you choose Date Mark in the Type dropdown list? The trigger looks at the mission date.

Otherwise, please zip and post your mission here.

yes I did...

The trigger date time MCU is in the group "actual airfields" because it should alter the plane set. It is located in the center of the mission...

I notice that you have the trigger set to 1917-08-01 and not 1918-08-01. Did you perhaps set your mission date to 1918-08-01? If so, I think the trigger fires because the date in the trigger has passed, but I have not tested this scenario. Try setting your mission date to 1916-08-01 and see what happens.

I also noticed that you have a float parameter set in the behaviour command being triggered by Date Time, but you have not set a country for the linked airfields.

I played with mission dates so it may vary from what I told you, I think I have figured it out, the trigger fires when the mission date surpases or is equal to the date you set in the trigger, I tried to mount the horse from the rear it seems. I had the mission set up for 1918 and wanted it to revert to 1917 when the 1917 date is set. I have to set the starting plane set to 1917 and let the trigger change the plane set to 1918 when 1918 is set as mission date...

The coalition of the airfield should not change though...

Which brings me to another problem with the same trigger, it should activate fires at the airfield only after sunset and it did it before this patch but now the fires on the airfields are active even before sunset. The trigger date time is in central and enteten searchlight groups respectively...

Can you help me figure it out? The date.cfg file seems to be missing in IL2 Sturmovik/data folder now. There were the times declared for sunset and sunrise for every day in the year. But I can not select it anymore...

EDIT: There is still something wrong with the trigger. It ignores the year. It only does not fire when the day and month is set to an earlier date. It does't take the year into account. I had 01/08 set for both years 1917 and 1918 and it doesn't make a difference. It is basically the same date for the trigger..only when I alter the day and the month it will react. Wow that cost me some nerves....

I agree; it does look like a bug. I suggest posting in the Technical Issues and Bug Reports forum.

For what it's worth, here's a test mission to set a planeset for 1917 versus 1918. It always chooses the 1918 set based on the dates I used but I have not played with adjusting just the month and day.

I wonder if this is related to the changes they did in the latest update to change the "Position of celestial bodies" (item 8). Test how early the fires turn on.

I do not have a date.cfg file either. Maybe they do not want people editing it.

Bug report is done. Night fires are still burning at 06:30 when the sun has already risen. At 07:30 fires are out. That is for 1st of August. It seems fires activated after sunset burn way into the morning in summer when the sun is already up.

I also don't have a date.cfg in my data folder. I suspect it's related to the new celestial bodies skydome update as well.

That's not good I will have to check in my campaign. I use the date MCU to light automatically the fires or the landlights after a certain hour if there is a plane that will land.

I need to test all that.
