Gigabyte RTX3080Ti Gamer, I'm getting more frequent black screen crashes. Both the monitor and headset go black, seems like the game is still running but keyboard does nothing and I have to reboot the PC.

Any ideas guys? Duff card?

Doesn't sound good. You could try under-volting with Afterburner and see what happens. Sounds like a bad card to me. If it works with undervolting then you likely have a bad spec card. If it does not work, likely still card.

Did you do an uninstall of previous drivers with DDU and clean install of latest Nvidia drivers? If not you could try that. I would do that first.

I've under-volted it by dropping boost from 2000mhz to 1900mhz, that doesn't appear to have reduced in-game performance at all. So now I'll wait and see if it black-screens again. There are loads of reports online about this happening with high-end RTX cards.

I doubt it's a driver issue, never had this with the 1080Ti.

Check temps and PSU voltage - don't use the same split cable for the GPU and check if you can switch PSU to single-rail operation (some have a switch for this).

GPU doesn't go above 66c.

Using the Heaven benchmark I'm hitting 1900mhz core at 0.970v and it's stable. So now I'll run IL2 as normal and hope there will be no more black screens.

Puh, power cable is a split jobby.
Found a spare 8-pin, I'll do that later.

PSU is RM850w, it's modular but no single-rail switch.

At least use two separate GPU power cables from it then - the splitter at the amps a 3080Ti pulls is not a good idea.

Yes absolutely this. That could easily have caused black screen.

I've fitted the cable. Maybe I should revert the card to stock settings and see if it was the cabling. Meh. Lol.

Nearly four hours of co-op last night and it ran sweet as a nut, so fingers crossed it was indeed the power cabling.

Just realized I probably have the same model gpu if it's the Gigabyte 3080Ti Gaming OC.

I've undervolted it to .825, OCed memory to +1000. It now maintains constant boost  at 1830 (before that it would try to go higher and get temperature limited or power limited and yo-yo between frequencies). Further it also knocked off about 50watts from consumption (according to a power meter on the plug, not monitoring software) and runs a bit cooler as well.
