The Po-2 is a better fighter than the P40!

 

The only real drawbacks are its mediocre rate of climb and a tendency to stall suddenly on approach to landing. It's armament is devastating, especially the 37mm cannon.

Personally I would say the 23mm is far better than the 37mm.   I think it is because it has a shallower trajectory ie the 37mm is like firing a mortar ?   The 23mm seem to do as much damage to tanks and boats as the 37mm, perhaps it penetrates armour better. 

Here is a short video showing that a single pass is enough to fatally damage a torpedo boat but a second pass will make it explode (I have already made one pass when the video starts)   Later I managed to fatally damage a freighter using just the 23mm.    Sorry, the quality is abysmal as I made it on an old PC with a 1050 card (not VR)
