installation path for PWCG BOS/FC

Is there an updated installation path/set of instructions to get this beast operational?

Typically: C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad

Installation

It's a Java program so you have to have Java installed - latest version always works.

The download is a zip file.  Download into your BoX install directory.

Unzip the file into your BoX install directory.

PWCG will install into a folder called PWCGCampaign

Enter the PWCGCampaign folder and run PWCG.exe

 

First Run - Creating Your First Campaign

After the program starts for the first time everything is disabled except Planes Owned - press Planes Owned and tell PWCG which planes you own.

Once you do this the other buttons are enabled.

Create a campaign (New Campaign).

First select the service that you will fly for.

After that there is a step by step work flow ... do each step and then the Create Campaign button 

 

Configure BoX for PWCG

Ensure that mission logs are enabled

- BoX/Data/setup.cfg

-     mission_text_log = 1

 

Playing the Campaign

Press mission to create a mission.

Follow the flow through accept mission.

Fly the mission - it will be under the BoX Missions section

- NOT CAMPAIGN (BoX has no idea that a PWCG mission is part of a campaign)

Return to PWCG 

Press Combat Report

Claim your air to air victories

- You will not be credited with victories you do not claim

- Unless you really want to, do not over claim

Proceed through the debrief.

Repeat until you are dead or the war is over

The latest download does not function like this, it tells me that I have not installed it in the root folder and even though I have this done  mission_text_log = 1 it still tells me to do it.

 

The stupid thing is i actually got a lone wolf mission for FC operational

 

So gurus where am I going wrong?

It probably is not the problem but it does happen so just a passing thought based on what you said was the error - Have you accidentally unzipped it so that you've ended up with \IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\PWCGBoS 13.7.0\PWCGBoS without noticing rather than \IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\PWCGBoS ?

 

 

The mission_text_log thing is so the mission log gets created and can be picked up to create the mission debriefing.

you are correct, I end up with \IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\PWCGBoS 13.7.0\PWCGBoS instead of IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\PWCGBoS

That's good. Easy fix then and you should be on your way to flying a campaign now.

You have to unzip the program from its zipped folder. What you've done, by the sound of it, is simply placed the zipped folder into the game's root folder. That ain't gonna work.

or just put the zip into the game root folder and do an unzip here. This will give you \IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\PWCGBoS and it should then work fine. 

or just move the PWCGBos folder from where it is now to the \IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles folder and delete folder PWCGBoS 13.7.0
