I'm married to a ginger, so you don't need to tell me. ? I come fully prepared for arguments like this.

I can relate to this completely. Of my 14 years in the Marines, I was engaged to or married to a redhead for 12 of them.

Being yelled at and following constantly changing orders is not even a challenge these days thanks to that 'training'.

How exactly would a career mode for ground vehicles work? I seriously want to know, because no one through the years has ever come up with a viable proposal.

So your saying the team  can't get some inspiration from say, oh gee, like all the great older tank sims before it that had infanty, supporting units, and promotions in some sort of campaign or career mode based on taking objectives and/or defending them? How about a dynamic system like F22 TAW, Enemy Engaged Comanche Hokum, or Falcon BMS? All 3 of these simulate a fully changing air and ground war while you are doing your own thing. How about the dynamic generator that has been made for DCS which also has the Combined Ops module? Even further back how about the dynamic war generator made for Super VGA Harrier...not only could you fly missions and plan them, but you could sit on the assualt ship, manage supplies, manage ground assaults, amphibious landings, and call in spec ops to eventually take over all of East Timor! rowans Battle of Britain and Mig Alley also had a Falcon 4.0 style dynamic war going on with planning. A lot of submarine simulations also have these dynamics. The old tank sim Ipanzer 44 also had a dynamic campaign system althoough the rest of that game wasn't so good.

In Janes Longbow 2, you flew one mission, the computer flew the others at the same time and then calculated the results and then generated the next set of missions. Falcon 4.0 did the same thing.  The same could be done for a ground simulation involving armor controlled by players.

I played WWII Online for a few years, this had a dynamic system spanning much of Western Europe, cities and airfields needed to be taken, supplies needed to be kept in check. Its only downfall was the need for multiplayer to work but that sim still refuses to die and has a large player base over a decade and a half later.

Obviously some modern sim developers have gone backward in terms of those capabilities or are just too lazy to take it up a notch and be on the same level or surpass sims made long before it. I think its the fact they can just churn out vehicles and don't have any moltivation to do so. I have heard so many excuses over the years as to why they don't and none of them hold weight.

This is th main reason why most of these old games still have mod support and reside on many peoples hard drives today and they will still be played after a lot of current sims are dead until they take it back to that level of design.

speaking of reaching its climax, do we have any news of the various producers/developers/instances meeting about a sequel/continuation of TC?

@Eeafanas did you hear from the Russian discord (it seemed more active there...)

Unfortunately, I have nothing to say…:scratch_one-s_head:

@Wardog5711  As the OP I ask that you please lock this inane thread.  Yes, TC was a great idea - with market dominating PvP potential for so many reasons - large maps, historically accurate tank match ups, no video game style play, accurate ballistics, actual simulation and total PvP immersion....blah blah blah.  All the things people hate about the other games are all set right here.

But, in hindsight,  it peaked about the time I originally posted the thread.  And we can all pontificate on what we think should be, could be, would be...but at the end of the day it's clear that the 1C commitment to this venture is not proportional to the quality of it's players (and I'm saying that as nicely as possible).  Too bad, because on average there are 20,000 pissed off, daily War Thunder players looking for  a better way.  And we are the better way.  But I've stated those clear business stats before....to no avail.  So ---- that.

But to be clear  the better way is Finnish Virtual Pilots and Advance and Secure.  And if 1C was smart they'd invest in their own servers to copy those two models.  But they aren't smart.  They are too tethered in the old school, single player campaign flight sims to understand that combined arms PvP is the here and now.  And it's where the money is at.  Make TC money by adding more content for tankers.: skins, uniforms better graphics and numbering, bush cammo etc etc.  It's easy and we'll pay for the right PvP server.  But I digress.....

I'm embarrassed by this thread now -  embarrassed by how clearly the actual players  all articulated how little it takes to take this game from good to great..  even just bug fixes like the turret bug... and in doing so, maybe take 1C to Gaiijn levels of profitability (probably with 1/3rd the overhead too)... and how little 1C has come back with in return.

At least they gave us @Wardog5711

At the end of the day 1C doesn't care, and as much as it sucks to say...... neither should we.

We've kicked this dead horse enough already.  Lets end this dumb thread.

Mind you, and to be fair, it is a trait not limited to bloodnuts.

@ShampooActual I will reluctantly comply with your request.

As an 11 year player of WOT and a lifelong builder of armor models, I love tanks. And I still have hope...

But until there is some solid information to discuss the thread will just get more cluttered.

PM me if you ever want to unlock it.
