In relation to the other topic I recently started, I wanted to also ask this here: has anyone had an issue with a GVL224 controller where one of the axis inputs stopped working or has starting exhibiting a lot of "noise" (this is, excessive jumping up and down of the axis)? That is one of the problems I am now experiencing with mine - in addition to the one lever not responding, now I have the throttle not responding correctly (i.e., lots of noise).

This is all really bizarre, since all I did was plug the cables back into the controller board before attempting to re-calibrate the device. So, now in addition to having a non-responding lever, I have another one that is extremely jumpy and nowhere close to being calibrated correctly when I move it up an down.

I am in contact with Vitaly (aka GVL224), and he's suggested that there might either be a problem with a contact on the board, a broken wire somewhere, or possibly dirt in one of the 3-pin connectors. Is there anything else that might be the case or is there anyone here who might have experienced a similar problem? Are these 3-pin connectors fragile enough that a wire might be broken inside one of them?

When I got mine, sadly not from Vitaly (long story, another time), it was jittery and noisy like heck. Even with that noise I finished and saved several re-calibrations to no avail.

Only after “deleting” (removing) calibrations through diView and re-calibrating through windows, did it work.

Ok, thanks, I'm going to have to give that a try. It's so weird how all of a sudden these axes have stopped working.

Well, I wish the DI View would be the solution I needed, but it didn't turn out that way. ? Now I have a throttle unit that has three non-working cables. I checked everything - no bent pints, no dirt in the contacts, no wire breaks. I swear this thing is cursed.

LukeFF  I hope you get this resolved. I am just glad to hear Vitaly is ok still from the "you know what " in " you know where "

Oh, I hate Pudding !!

Check DCS PC Hardware For Sale sub-forum.  He has a thread there. Though his last post was Feb 18th.

You can post there and see if he replies. I imagine he is caught up in that mess.

Thanks all! Yes, I'm still working through this all. I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that there actually might be a problem with the board and the USB connector. See, this all started when I had to replace the USB connector. Before I had to perform that repair, everything was working fine with this controller and has been for 2+ years. After plugging everything back in, first it was just one lever, and then it became 3. I pulled another cover off the device to see if I could find any other issues (and this is something I'd done in the past as well to adjust the friction, so it was no big deal). However, guess what happens after that? That's right, now I am told Windows can't recognize the device and I am seeing the Code 43 error. ?

So, it just goes from bad to worse, and the upshot is I've been very careful with handing all of these cables. That tells me something is going on with the board.

I have problems with couple of wheels that are in the main throttle handle. I intended to use one of the wheels for zoom but there has always been little noise that makes it impossible.

Then the little noise got a lot bigger rendering the wheels useless. This was because wear in the wire. The wire runs from the handle to the base and is under stress when throttle is moved. I've replaced the wire three times now and fixed the big jittering.

I haven't been able to fix the small noise. I would probably need to change the potentiometers.

You couldn't see the damage in the wire but moving the wire around made it obvious that it was there.

That also sounds like the pots might be loose.

If your configuration is similar to what I have in the main handle (1 wheel below, 1 index finger wheel and, 1 thumb wheel), the handle is so chock full of wiring and buttons, I believe wires are moving and moving the pots.

Right now whenever I move my index finger, thumb wheel moves so ever slightly. Those are all my trim wheels/stabilizer axes, so it doesn’t affect me that much/frequently.
