Guns keep firing after releasing trigger

I'm wondering if this is a bug or a hardware issue: the guns stick "on", firing longer than I press the trigger.  This happens more with machine guns than cannon, and the longer I hold the trigger the longer the guns keep firing after I release it.  

I'm using an older flight stick, a Saitek ST290 Pro, which is probably 15-20 years old.  I recently switched from a desktop to a gaming laptop and the problem persists on both machines.  I figure its either a bug in the game, or time to upgrade to a newer flightstick.   Just curious to know if anyone else is having this issue because I haven't been able to find it in the forums.  If this has already been addressed please point me to the appropriate thread.

Cancel that.  Figures I'd check the most obvious thing after clicking "post".  The trigger was sticking.  Nothing a little WD40 couldn't fix, but lesson learned: take care of your controllers!  (Moderators: feel free to delete this thread if you don't feel it's helpful, thanks!)
