I puchased this, and it shows in red print on the main screen, but when I go to create a pilot etc., I don't see Battle Of Normandy anywhere.  How do I start a career in Battle of Normandy?  I have the same issue in other add ons.  I have limited missios etc. availabe.  I see a lot of locked missions too.  Am I doing something wrong> Why are my add ons listed in red, but unavailabe in careers etc.?Thanks all...take care..

The BoN is in pre-release, which means that planes are being released as finished (P-47D-22, etc.), but the game itself (map and campaigns) is not yet complete. I believe it is aimed to be complete by the end of this year, but the global situation and Covid-19 have slowed things down, so YMMV.

I am sure that only last week Jason said they were aiming to get it out before Summer.  Maybe not 100% sure as perhaps I am getting confused with another game.

I have Battle of Bodenplate, Kuban, MoscowNormandy and Stalingrad all in red.  I can enter a career in B of Moscow, Kuban, Stalingrad and Rheinland.  I have no idea why B of Rheinland  allows a career and it's not listed in red as are the other Battles.   I'm more than confused.  What add on battles can I play?  Do I have to finish a career to unlock the other battles, planes etc.?   I don't think I got what I paid for. Out of all the Battles Of, I can only play career mode in the 4 scenarios I mentioned.  I appreciate all input fellow members...llthanks a lot....take care all....Eddie.

You bought five modules, one of which is not yet released (i.e. you pre-ordered it). That means four of five have career modes. The fifth will arrive sometime this year. In each of those BoX modules, you have dozens of flyable careers, depending on which plane you want to fly and what time period you want to fly in.

No. You can have as many careers going at any time as you like, on any map with any of the planes you own in the system (in your case, at least the 30 planes that came with BoS, BoM and BoBp (although I don't see BoBp listed below your avatar--BoBp is a separate module from BoN; also not BoK listed either); in addition you can fly careers for some of the BoN planes already released on the BoBp map. Some of those early release planes were used on that map, but some where not.

There is no Battle of Rheinland, it is Battle of Bodenplatte, but the map is called Rheinland map as Bodenplatte is no location. So the career is the Bodenplatte career.

Thanks Yogiflight.  The career mode is a bit confusing to me.  When I select the career options, there are 4 places to go. The 4th career says "Battle Of Rheinland"  No mention of Bodenplate.    With info from you and killer, I'm starting to get the hang of this thing.  Know what I mean?  Thanks again my friend..take care...Eddie.

LOL, I never cared about that and therefore didn't notice that. It is of course correct, as the fighting was for the Rheinland, but it is a bit odd, not to have the name of the game mentioned. Anyway, have fun with it and take care, too.

The map is Rhineland.  Bodenplatte was a single morning.  I guess calling the career Rhineland makes sense - sort of.  If the career was Bodenplatte then it would be really, really short :) .

i mean... if they model the pilot waking up, having breakfast, getting ready, getting briefed, flying is 4-6 sorties that some of the pilots flew that day, getting debriefed, having supper and going to bed... i guess you get like 16 hours of gameplay out of it ?

Good point.  That's about how long my ironman careers last, so it works for me.

Ah, don't I know that experience?! ? I once made it to four or five missions before being jumped during a scramble.

I suppose one could also model the missions leading up to Bodenplatte (e.g. relocating airfields in some cases).

Wow didnt know this was not out at all yet.  I missed out on the big sale recently as i was waiting for my custom build hp omen 45l to be delivered this saturday.  I purchased normandy directly from this web site last night and got an purchase confirmation from xsolla but nothing else like download links or a anything.  I just got the 600 dollar tpr rudder pedals from thrustmaster and wont be able to try them out to see if they work.  I figured i could just fly around in  normandy even with no missions but a no  go on that.i guess i will have to get flight simulator 2000 to try them out.

Im just hoping that the email i got will be enough to prove that i did buy normandy when it comes time to download and play the game this summer when its avaiable.  I have no intention of buying stalingrad for 80 dollars when it was 12 dollars two days ago.  I will wait for however long it takes to get it for a decent sale price.

This was my first digital purchase ever.  I have no steam games.  All my flying games i have are on cd from 2000's in 32 bit.  My new rudder pedals will have to wait i guess.

Go to the il2sturmovik.com main page.

Click on Profile.

Click on Purchases in the red menu box. Your product should be listed.

Click on Download in the red menu box to get the game installer.

I have the Steam version which requires a purchase of Battle of Stalingrad so I don't know what will be available if you only have the Battle of Normandy EA. The Normandy map hasn't been released yet but there was a free Eastern Front map added to the series that I believe should be available to you. If so you'll be able to test fly the aircraft in single player mode and set up fights against the AI.

If that doesn't work, consider getting Battle of Bodenplatte when you can. You'll be able to fly your Normandy aircraft in some phases of the Battle of Rheinland careers, and compare razorback vs. bubbletop versions of P-47D Thunderbolt and P-51 Mustang; Spitfire Mk.IX vs Mk.XIV; Typhoon IB vs. Tempest V; Fw 190 A-6 vs. A-8; and Bf 109 G-6 vs 109 G-14 and Bf 109 K-4.

Situation is a bit better than that - Normandy is currently in early access with most of the planes released, but without the map or career mode.

But there are several free maps that you should have access to in single player mode, so you will be able to use those to try out the already released planes.

Also, if you are interested in online multiplayer you can use any of the Normandy planes on any map even if you do not currently own it.

For the record the already released and available Normandy planes you will be able to use are:

Spitfire Mk.XIV, P-51B/C, P-47D “Razorback”, Typhoon Mk.Ib,  Bf 109 G-6 “Late”, Fw 190 A-6,

Still to come are the Mosquito F.B. Mk.VI, Ar 234, Ju 88 C-6a and Me 410.

The Ju 88C6a is due in the next patch, hopefully next week.

------------

Use SkyCat1969's instructions above to access the downloader and install the game.

Or check out the manual here for detailed download and install info, and then how to get into all the rest of the sim.

If you hit any problems or need more advice post here and someone will help.

Enjoy!!

Also check out the developer diaries that come out (nearly) every Friday, it's a good way to get an idea of how development of Normandy (and Great Battles as a whole) is going and to get over excited about new content releases. ?

Sales are frequent!
Next week is St. Patrick’s Day, Spring Break is near, and there is always a random one. Not complaining. :)

Yeah frequent updates on every aspect of the game developing two new modules simultaneously with a small team dealing with adversity…. Why would any one pay money for this?

I chose to get normandy premium for the none sale price because it is a brand new release and was  not on sale at the last one and prob wont be on sale for a long time. Also it will help support its develpment.
