Asked before probably: is there a way to either skip parts of a running mission to a previous waypoint after a lawndart or other crash, or set an offset in a mission at start?

Other sim games often have a save point/position function.

With long 'intro flying time' missions it is often quite frustrating when you have to start all over again to get into the action again...

Nope, is not possible.

But you can insert the autopilot and come back where you were before

You can always use the x8 game speed, so it will be x1.00043 faster

8x speed, running a mission with 1 or 2 planes and a simple map, and low game settings for most players?

Usually i set it to 4x when i get bored underway. The fun part is when you forget your speed at the destination ....
