Mysticpuma Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 (edited) P51- B #79 "The Blonde Squaw" (Black Letters with a Yellow outline) on both sides of the aircraft Serial - 43-24814 (although it would be obscured by the Checkertail. This is the short Checkertail, not the full 'extending along the fuselage') Checkertail Pilot and crew, names were stencilled onto the side as per image attached (rather than a nameplate) Pilot Lt. H. Mohawk C.C. S/SGT. E. Doss A.C. SGT. C. Reimert Arm. SGT. L. Anderson Any takers? Just putting it out there, thanks for any help, cheers, MP Edited March 2, 2022 by Mysticpuma
Rjel Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 I'd be glad to give it a shot. I have to say though that where some can knock out a skin quickly, I'm rather slow so if it's something you'd need in a couple of days I might not be the best choice.

No rush and much appreciate the offer. Just been sent another image of the aircraft too. I know you will research it well but as far as I can tell there were no Yellow stripes on the wings nor were there any wing tip colours for this aircraft of the 325th. Most likely very similar style to this but obviously No. 79 Edited March 2, 2022 by Mysticpuma
Rjel Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 I started to work on the tail checks as I assume those will be the toughest to line up. The rest looks pretty straightforward. I'll PM you an update in a day or two. If someone beats me to it, I'll finish it up regardless. Still not liking the NMF on the B Mustang so I'm hoping the next update will correct that. 1 1

Found another image, shows the art was on both sides of the aircraft ? (note the two kill markings and size/position of the fuselage number) Edited March 3, 2022 by Mysticpuma 1
