Denum Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 You seem to sulk quite a bit no? Yes it happens. I've had instances where I've lit both 110 wings on fire and it goes out right away. Or a 109 that I lit on fire multiple times because .50s can still be pretty anemic. Spitfires that explode for a split second but seems to be ok after the fact. Cheers 1
-250H-Ursus_ Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 (edited) Happens in every plane. And is god damn annoying, but is not a Yak exclusive thing. Edited March 2, 2022 by -332FG-Ursus_
69th_Mobile_BBQ Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 I'm pretty sure that "flash" fires - or fires that suddenly erupt and then self-extinguish, even with a steady leaking fuel flow - are a thing in real life. How common they would be under such circumstances and/or the probability of them happening so often under combat damage conditions is most-likely impossible to quantify. In other words: Possible? Yes. How probable? Unknown.
[CPT]Crunch Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 Yaks did have a compressed nitrogen bottle, and a valve connecting the fuel tanks.
Knarley-Bob Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Must have had a lot of water built up in his fuel tanks..........?

1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted May 10, 2022 Posted May 10, 2022 The self extinguishing bug also is apparent with Fokker Dr.1 1
