Voyager Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 So, does anyone know where I can find the manuals for specific aircraft? In particular, I'm looking for the Wildcats, but eventually want to play around with all the Allied single engines. However I seem to have a knack for exploding the engines so far. I've found the older Cliffs of Dover plane guides, but not for the post Spitfire/Hurricane planes.
343KKT_Kintaro Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 (edited) This could be the name of a fictionnal 1940s band for the background atmosphere at our WWII era simulators: "Voyager and the Grumman Marlettes". Jokes aside, you wanted to type "Martlets", not "Marlettes". Wanna see the kick-start Martlet instructions? Forget the old guide, it's more of a souvenir now. And the Martlet wasn't in the game at the time. If you upgraded the old "Cliffs of Dover" up to the present-day "Cliffs of Dover - Blitz" (currently version 5.030), then simply launch your game and, as soon as you see the main menu (number of version is visible on the lower right corner, this is the main menu) then simply click on "Manuals". A "Microsoft Windows" window pops out of nowhere (magic!) and, inside, double-click on "aircraft". Here you have it, the PDF in English is titled "Flashcards All Aircraft-en.pdf". Second page is the content page. Go to the first list ("Allies"), find the Martlet Mk.III, click on it... you got it. Edited March 1, 2022 by 343KKT_Kintaro minor corrections
Voyager Posted March 1, 2022 Author Posted March 1, 2022 Hey, I know it as the Wildcat I presume it's some sort of bird, and am hoping it's not the French version with the reversed throttle controls Thank you for the direction to the current manual. I'll go dig through it and see if I can get a handle on not destroying the engine. Already got stall recovery going.
343KKT_Kintaro Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 You are welcome Voyager. We are equal as I didn't even know the meaning of "martlet" before I preordered the TFS game "Desert Wings - Tobruk". 20 minutes ago, Voyager said: I'll go dig through it and see if I can get a handle on not destroying the engine. A problem of radiators management I guess. Very easy to resolve. If you are interested in testing all the aircraft in the Dover series, do not hesitate to dowload a pair of simple dogfight missions I created for training. You'll find them by clicking here, with instructions to follow, it's a message of mine but on a different thread in these forums.
